Planted a little plot with some onions and radishes about 3 weeks ago. They were looking pretty good, and then about a week or so back our peacock wandered in and took the tops off almost every radish there. Left the onions alone, go figure. I have some 2 foot fence wire around it and left one end open and was putting a piece of rigid panel material in front of the opening and like a dummy, I left it down one day so Pepe wandered in for a treat. He can fly, but won't fly in because it's only about 8 X 10 and he knows he can't get back out (he needs a running start). Anyway today I was out planting more radishes and some carrots in another little plot and checked the other patch, and by golly the tiny bit of area he didn't take the tops off had some ready to pick radishes. Only 3, but hey it's the last day of the year so I'm not complaining. Oh, and the others are growing their tops back (and I closed the hole so Pepe can't get back in) so hopefully in another week or two we will have another 100 or so.
