In short, don't mouth off about it if you don't know what you are talking about.
I have a new GM, bought in April that is a result of the govt intervening in GM's business and it is the finest truck I have ever owned, and it certainly has all the things I hated about GM fixed.
I got real burned out on GM back in the '70's when I saw a news article about the then CEO saying that they would build what they wanted and we would just have to buy it. And then the downsizing of the vehicles and the mess that came of that. And then their floppy frames on their trucks, quadrajet carbs, half fast cold engine start accessories, short lived starters, alternators, leaking PS pump seals, sorry brakes, 10,000 zerks to grease, rusting rear windows and quarter panels, 10,000 mile spark plug change, sorry gas mileage.................could always tell when a GM was in front of you.....you could smell them.....unburned fuel, to name a few.
Not only that, after having the truck for awhile and thinking about it, after the trial period ran out, I subscribed to the On-star emergency service that GM has in it's vehicles now and it gives me a tremendous peace of mind.
