Well, it is not my old Cummins but I have a 2009 Dodge 2wd short box 1500 with the 3.7 v6. It is really spunky and has no trouble keeping up with traffic or passing it. No, I know it is not a HEMI but I bought the truck for 1/2 the price of a HEMI truck.
I think we have become spoiled with the power levels of these newer trucks as my v6 would run circles around a 318 from the 80's. Now I am not trying to pull large trailers with this truck so I can get by with less. I get 16 to 20 mpg depending on how fast I drive.
Those turbo Ferds are hard to beat for power and good mpg.
