So you are teaching at the local school and the county/state is considering closing it? If not then what's the problem? You've decided to move to the big city? Now your question is valid. What state do you want to live in? Climate--NOAA or Intellicast web sites will give average temperature across the country. Pick the state. Do a search of the state for the ranking of the schools, grade school. College--kids will be better off away from home, they will mature better. You want to retire or quit?
