There is something going on that would reverse that trend a little. But, the govt and we the people won't stand for it, we are trying very very very hard to eliminate the reason things could turn around a little.
Our dollar value has gone in the toilet, making our real goods look cheap to the rest of the world.
Fuel, grain, meat, steel, copper, etc prices are up in the USA. But - not really. What's happened is the dollar fell in value, it wasn't that these real things actually gained value.
With things as they are, we could actually export stuff to other countries. Imorting stuff is actually a little bit expensive right now.
But, alas, we all complain about the price of fuel and food, and we demand the dollar regain it's high value in the rest of the world, and will do anything to manipulate the ecconomy to swap us back to where we can't export anything again, and stuff from other countries is much cheaper than what we can produce here.
The ecconomy and global stuff is more complicated than my simple thought, but there is something to is as well..... imho
