I quit 30 years ago, after smoking three packs of Marboros a day (the real ones). I cheated and chewed Red Man for a year after -so I guess that's not 100% "cold turkey." I then quit chewing since my wife was eternally disgusted with me. No problems sinced and I don't miss it at all - except when I've got a cold beer. Seems unfair to drink a cold one and not a smoke or two (or ten).
I find it ironic that smokers often think smoking calms them down -when in essence - it often makes them nervous wrecks.
My college-professor brother just died of cancer and he never smoked a day in his life - so who the heck knows? My mom smoked for 80 years and she's still alive and almost 100 now (no mind left though).
When I started smoking, cigarettes were $2 a carton and 25 cents a pack at the military base. Now in NY - somewhere around $10 per pack? That price would make me quit faster then the fear of cancer.

After some research of convert or not, I decided to go ahead, the main reason being that this tractor was a working tractor, not a show tractor (yet). I did keep everything I replaced for the day I do want to restore her to showroom condition.
