I quit smoking on July 1st 2002. I chewed nicotine gum, the Wal-Mart brand, it all tastes bad, for over a year. During this time my 83 yr old father was diagnosed with Lung cancer, had part of one lung removed and fell and broke his hip. It was the broken hip that killed him. He died 9 months after lung surgery. Almost to the last day of his life he would ask me if I was still quit? I am alos a recovering alcoholic and drug addict, I can tell you from my experience that NICOTINE is EVERY BIT ADDICTIVE AS COCAINE! It isn't easy any way you do it...
