Dale it is not that odd. The 4 cylinders are just a completely different tractor than the three cylinder ones. Very few parts will cross over. Ford made it confusing by using the same models numbers through the change over. Plus the three cylinder models did not come out until 1965.
PLEASE GO to Smith's site and read the Tractor ID/History section. It will tell you and show you where to find you serial number and what was made and when. In just a few minutes you can make yourself much more knowledgeable on what you have.
Also once again what you have IS NOT THAT RARE. I found ten Ford 600 diesels for sale in just a few minutes on the Internet. You will have to go with NEW sleeves at the very least because they are much too thin to ever get out in shape to reuse them.
You can get the diesel kit. It is not show on YT on line catalog but I know you can still get them. I just did a 700 diesel this last fall. I had to call to get the price for the kit.
