Yes, it all sounds familiar. My biggest complaint with soil testing is I assumed it should be a science, not voodoo! Dealers here have typically used out of state labs. Several years ago I had my samples split and sent to both the out of state lab, and the local one. Out of state said I needed K. Local one said P! So who do you believe? The overall fert. recommendation was much more realistic from the local one, so I went with them, and have had good results.
