I find it interesting that the teams of horses brought much more than the tractor. There also is a tandem disk that brought $19.00 and the tractor only $20.50.
I will admit that a Fordson tractor was not a dream tractor but I would think it would be worth more than a team of horses. I can only guess that the cost of fuel/maintenance verses feed made the horses cheaper to use.
My Grand Father always said he much preferred working with a good team than a tractor. He always liked the companionship of the horses. That did NOT get passed down to me. I have a strong dislike for horses and could not see liking them over a tractor to work with.
