A 302 is a good engine and will do what you need to do, They are a better longer distance driving at 60 mph engine with a smaller load. The 300 is great too, but for hauling loads shorter distances. Dont know about the 351 as I never had one. The 460 is great if you have big loads and longer distances. You just need to decide what the main purpose of you truck will be. I have a 94 automatic 2 wd with the 302 for the longer hauls, a 94 4wd 5 speed with a 300 and flat bed for working around the farm and pulling smaller trailers short distances, I now have a 97 4wd automatic with the 460 to do all the big stuff. I always figured a pickup was for working and a car was for driving. Hope this helps.
