When my late dad sold the farm back in the 1950's when my brother and I were in the military. They paid $11000.00 for a big rancher on a major highway that can be zoned from residential to commerical. Auto Zone paid $400000.00 for a lot not far from their rancher. My nephew inherited the house in 2008 when my sister died. The house next to him was on the market last year for $625000.00. The ground seems to be worth than the building.
There was a gravel pit near a town about 10 miles from me and had all the equipment used there just rusting away. It sold for a million dollars and they built a shopping center there. My late dad would roll over in his grave knowing what real estate cost now. Hal
