In 1967, my father purchased a ranch home on 21 acres, zoned for industry. Paid $40,000 at public auction, 16 acres with the house , and 5 across the street (2 deeds). I know he was afraid to do it back then because $2,000 per acre was alot of money. In 2004, he sold the 16 acres for $1,700,000.
They tore down the home and were going to build 3 warehouses until the economy took a nose-dive. Now that 16 acres is for sale again. We still have the 5 acres listed with the same realtor, but industrial land is not selling right now. Just gonna hang on till things turn around.
