While I am not in the market for a new truck, if I did have the itch I'd look around at some folks who make their live'n with a pick up.
Buddy of mine started haul'n yard barns for the local mennonites about 12 years ago. He started with one 3/4 ton truck and fill'n lots close to home by himself. Now he has 5 or 6 trucks on the road at any time run'n 4+ hours out in every direction. He trades them quick before they get to 100,000 miles. Every few years he will buy a Dodge, Ford, and Chevy at the same time and keep up with what it cost (include'n down time and he swap seats them so it's not one guy'n tear'n one of them up while the others get babied) to get the three to 100,000 miles. For the last 5 or 6 years his main fleet has been all Chevys.
