We had our home broken in to two years ago by two seventeen year old boys while we were out of town. After walking a half mile across a wet soft field they kicked a basement window in and came up the stairs and opened a back door for their escape route and touched off the alarm system. The police tracked them down shortly and they are now doing a year in prison. I always thought that I would do what many of you are saying as I have a 12 guage Benelli Automatic handy in the house but after seeing how young seventeen year olds are I am not sure I could have shot either of them as long as they were not a threat to my wife or myself. As the Judge sentenced them I was next to their families and to see the heartbreak of the mothers, fathers and grandparents. All I could say to them was "Lets be thankfull that this is a court proceeding rather than a funeral service." A home invasion memory will last a long time but to take anothers life may haunt you forever.
