I am no Mr. Badass or anything, but one night wife was sleeping on the couch and ran in the bedroom saying someone came in the back door and went into the dining room. I grabbed the pump shotgun, gave the unmistakeable pump to load it, and loudly announced that I was allowing 10 seconds to get out. Any movement after that by anything over 4 feet tall (had 3 small kids in bedroom behind me) was going to get shot. Strange feeling, but I was kind of hoping something moved either immediatly or after 10 seconds just so I could end the situation. I would have shot to end the threat.
