need help with a '33 Caterpillar

I have a friend who asked me to see if the net could provide help (or a mech) in Colorado (Estes Park) for a 1933 Caterpillar. It's run by a magnito (sp) and they can't seem to get it to spark or fire in correct order. Help! My spouse has the ID #'s at this moment. Any thoughts?
