We had a '95 F250 Powerstroke (automatic)- burnt up in the driveway in the middle of the night. Next day, we got a recall notice for possible leak of brake fluid onto the brake light controller, which is "hot" all the time- could cause a fire. Ya think?
Replaced it with a '99 F350 Powerstroke with 6 speed. Sure like it- the 6th is a Granny low, great around the farm.
Not much difference in the "feel" or operation of the two. If you're not driving it too far, and for the difference in price, I'd go with the V10- it should pull about as well as the diesel. And I think a flatbed (especially a 12') is a lot handier around the farm. The '95 seems priced a little on the high side to me.
BTW, we also have a '99 Cummins Dodge one ton. Now THERE's a serious rig. . .
