Hi,
Well , I had a first today . I had my first outpatient surgery at out local hospital . Had a ear tube took out and replaced. Since I had to be put to sleep for the procedure , I can't drive until at least 11:00 am tommorrow . Not being able to drive for 24 hours sucks . It also makes you appreciate the luxury of being able to . But , at least I got an excuse to miss work for one night . With all the questions , blood pressure tests , temp. tests and IV , you'd think that I was having major surgey as in having my appendix took out , etc.. Other than the taste im my mouth ( they administered my anthestia that way ) when I woke up and the IV being stuck in my arm , it wasn't bad . But , it makes me feel for the people having major surgery ( open heart , etc. ) and being admitted to the hospital overnight or longer after what little I went through for minor outpatient surgery for my ear tube to be took out and replaced ,app. a five minute procedure especially when the patient is knocked out . Originally thought that the tube had worked around and gotten against the bones in my ear and was muffling the sound and if this didn't work then I'd have to have reconstructive surgery .
