I"ll watch it...occasionally since Football is over, the weather isn"t nice yet and the NCAA tourney hasn"t started...but I don"t really care anymore. When I started watching there were personalities: Cale, The Allisons, Neil Bonnett, DW, Tim Richmond was my favorite at the time, the cars were mostly like ya would buy off the showroom floor with some racing mods. Then along came THE INTIMIDATOR, and Harry Gant, then Schrader, Bodine, Martin...and even though the cars had become something completely different from the model they were called I was right into it: Went to all the Glen Races (thought it was so cool watching JD MacDuffie drive his own open back hauler in and still be competitive), both Pocono races and occasionally Dover. Then like the "Day the Music Died", I was watching and still really into it the Day that NASCAR died...and for me it did. I hung on a while, kinda tried to root for Jr. but he"s not his Daddy, listened to Kevin Harvick once and decided I"d rather slap him then root for him, so I watched occasionally routing for any of the old guard who happened to still be racing: Schrader, or Elliott, Rudd, DW, Martin, then realized Smoke was the most Earnhardt like of the bunch so kinda rooted for him when I watched (now I think that little Busch is the most Dale like in driving style, but again I"d love to slap his scrawny lil whiney azz around). Now the cars are interchangeable: just switch your motor and front fiberglass off your Ford pop in anther brands engine and ya have a different brand. The drivers are all little jockey sized corporate weenies, and when they do try to hype up a fued, it"s about as exciting as watching a couple of 11 year olds arguing on the playground! Back in the 80"s the SCCA had this class of all equally prepared Renault race cars, they would start, all stay in line and unless someone wrecked or broke finished in the same order as they started...we called it the Turtle Parade because they all had that turtle shell type body, were slow and never passed...kinda like NASCAR now days

Today's Featured Article - Restoration Story: Fordson Major - by Anthony West. George bought his Fordson Major from a an implement sale about 18 years ago for £200.00 (UK). There is no known history regarding its origins or what service it had done, but the following work was undertaken alone to bring it up to show standard. From the engine number, it was found that this Major was produced late 1946. It was almost complete but had various parts that would definitely need replacing.
