BE CAREFUL! Lots of rest and lots of fluids.
Got influenza in beginning of November, it turned into pneumonia the following week. Eleven straight days of fever between 102-104 degrees. Missed 9 days of work and I don't normally miss work.(For some reason the doc told me to go outside for a couple minutes every day even though it was cold out and I had a fever...said the fresh cool air was good. I did do that, not sure what impact it had.)
Was weak and tired for an additional 5-6 weeks and the cough lasted about another month beyond that - took a nap after work every day and went to sleep by 7 pm every night for weeks and weeks. NASTY STUFF! Getting a flu shot next year, don't care for a repeat.
Norovirus is also going around... that is a serious stomach bug. Our 12 year old got it about a week ago, very ill and high fever - but it only lasted a couple days. The rest of us were fortunate to avoid it.
Husband got inflenza and missed an entire week of work last May. He NEVER misses work.
