I'm not familiar with gensets, so can't say if the Climax generator was the same company as the Climax who built engines, and, as greygoat says, were bought by Wauk... The ICK was a popular little engine used for all kinds of things, incl as a starter engine on some mid-size Wauks (the letters/numbers after "ICK" are works code for original accessories)...I believe the wartime AACU and CAPU aircraft power units were ICK variations... If the serial # is there, the Wauk Eng Hist Soc (wehs.net) can probably give you date of prod info, but not the purchaser. ICK's have ball-bearing mains, which I believe are now hard to find, but you'll have no trouble at all selling it if you decide not to play with it for awhile; there've been a good number of ICK/AAPU threads on smokstak. Good luck.
