I bought a 2003 Toyota Highlander back in November with 113,000 miles on it. 25 mpg, room for everyone and cheap considering it needs a paint job. Perfect daily commuter to and from work.
With the amount of miles I went a head and took the Toyota of Fort Worth's advice and bought the Easy Care extended warranty for somewhere around $1,000-1,200.
Last month I'm driving at night and look down and the check engine light is on, but the temp gauge hasn't moved from cold.
I pull over and the motor is hot, radiator hose has no pressure. I get a ride home and leave it on the side of the road.
Next morning I try to save everyone, including myself, some money buy winching it onto my trailer and carrying it to the dealership to fix. It was still topped off with water in the radiator. :?
Now the Easy Care folks have asked for all the codes, the dealership has established it is indeed a blown head gasket, but the Easy Care folks want a "complete" tear down and advised the toyota service department that I would have to cover that cost.
WHAT?
Every time I or the dealership call these people we get a different person. One said they will only cover the fix. One said everything, one said that they will only replace a used motor, one said re-manufactured.

I think the furthest has been the Two Cylinder 7 in the Amana Colonies last year. Lots of stuff, lots of people. I've also atten
