Do you guys remember a NASCAR race driver by the name of Sterling Marlin? He lives in the area where I live. He has been involved in some kind of dispute with the county on some land that he owns. He cut some trees, rerouted a creek, or some such thing. Last I knew the dispute had been going on for 5 or more years and was still not resolved.
There is a sign ordinance in Spring Hill, TN. The manager of the Farmers Co-Op set a little teepee like sign out in front of the Co-Op advertising a temporary sale on some stuff. I was in the Co-Op when the codes enforcement officer came into the Co-Op and told the manager it had to be taken down. "It's just a moveable, temporary, teepee sign that advertises a sale that's on for the next few days", says the manager. "It doesn't matter", says the officer, "but you might be able to get a permit for it if you go to city hall and pay a license fee for it."
