I painted some por-15 on my trucks rear hitch with some prep and also slopped some on the rusty driveshafts with no prep. Well the stuff on the hitch didn't last long at all ! but it can get sunlight on it which is a no-no for por-15 but those driveshafts still look good many many years later. Go figure ?
