Farmall H to 12V I used a Delco- type battery with
side terminals pointed to the out side. That way if
I ever flipped it over the battery wouldn't short
out against the bottom of the gas tank. I might get
smushed but not burnt! Was a heck of a lot easier to
get to and allowed me to mount the battery solid to
the tractor I didn't have to take it loose to get to
the cables
Yeah, I think im going to be "out of the box" with what I'm about to do. I'm going to go ahead and replace the battery with the post to the rear but with the positive post towards the solenoid. Reason being is I want to run new fuel line and add an inline filter just outside the first sediment bowl and before the first turn back across the battery area. Which means I may have to add an inch or two of fuel line out over the battery. Wrapped and insulated for good measure none-the-less.
Can anyone tell me what size fuel line to ask for at the parts store?

The year was about 1967 and my father found a good used Ford 601 tractor to use on the farm instead of "Bob", our old mule. Now my grandfather had had this mule since the mid 40's and he was getting some age on him. S
