I know a guy that runs a diesel truck on mostly used engine oil. Some of the large semi tractors get the engine oil changed and the used oil is run through fine filters and then put into fuel tank- truckers say they note a bit better power and mileage. 30 weight non-detergent low ash engine oil has been noted to be used as a gas additive- and was in some IHC manuals at 1 cup to 5 gallons gas- and again as diesel additive for Roosamaster pumps. SO- a limited amount of 30wt oil in diesel for certain engines is known practice for various reasons. The oil would have more energy than diesel since it is composed of longer chain hydrocarbon and would give a bit of boost to engine. RN
