If you hook up a pair of 12 volt batteries in parallel (pos to pos, and neg to neg) - yes - you will get higher cranking voltage and it might work better. I'd wonder why you need to do this though? Pitted contacts inside the solenoid-switch? Bad connections? Too much valve clearance stopping the ACR from working on the camshaft?
One 12 volt battery will usually crank the starter at 9 to 10 volts. 12 volt starters are designed to work at 9 volts. If you use two batteries, the voltage drop will be less and it could gain a volt and crank at 11. That 1 volt makes a big difference. Of course, if your connections/cables are bad, doubling batteries in parallel won't help.
