When I was a kid (and dinosaurs roamed the earth) one of our neighbors used a mounted picker and had an interesting way of managing it on the tractor. He had an old MF 65 diesel that had accumulated about 7500 hours on the clock, He mounted the picker, bought himself a New used Massey Ferguson super 90 to upsize his operation and left the picker on the 65 Diesel forever, it was still mounted at his estate sale. He said it was a pain to mount and if he wanted to use the tractor hard it needed some work so he left it under the picker and babied it. With the picker it might run 150- 200 hours a year.
