I happen to sell some that I made up quite a while ago, when I was sick of the junk ones we kept getting every where else. Made from 4140 steel, heat treated to 44-46 Rockwell C just like the originals were. I tested one of the new aftermarket ones we had and it wasn't even 35 rockwell. They turn to mush with a plow on the 3 pt. I have never had anyone complain about the ones they bought from me.

And no, JD top link balls DO NOT have the 1 1/8" hole in them like the lower pins require.
