I didn't realize this problem had spread that far North. The news reports I read and pictures I have seen of them and them in action is of a Russian hog, very large, long body, very large and long snout with predominant tusks, very hairy back "withers on back"; will attack humans.
Apparently hunting affiliated something/someone from the Georgia area went to Russia and got some of these hogs with the idea that they would make for good sport.
Well that might be the case but it's the rest of the equation that is causing problems. I expect them here on my farm any day. Texas has no restriction on them and I will have to deal with them as others have and my neighbors will. Not sure what that is going to be.
We have 2 new lakes going in about 10 miles N and E of my farm and those bottoms are known to have these hogs along with some domestics that got out years ago and reproduced. When these bottoms fill, these hogs are going to scatter and that is when the problems will start, I'm sure.
