My biggest beef with lick'em and stick'ems on the emissions side of it. If a businesses is not qualified to repair emissions you should not be able to attempt to fix it.... A emission inspector should be ASE certified as a Master and Advanced engine performance... Most all the cars I get have been to the local parts changers that have no ID what they are doing and have wasted the customers money parts swap'n to try and get the check engine light out...
Its a damm shame so many shops depend on inspections to stay in businesses around here by using their best guess to to fix it,,, its a total consumer rip off... I think inspection stations should be owned and operated by the state,,, If they could make money at it they would but they can not...
I don't depend on the chump change a inspection generates and will fail one in a heartbeat,,, I have to much invested in the equipment to let it set idle,,, here you are charged with a felony and have to go to court the fines are steep if you get caught cheating... The only reason I do'em is so I can Finnish up a check engine light repair...
