That $129.50 for a complete unit would have overhauled Dad's old Allis twice back in 1958. Maybe that's why he didn't buy me one and let me build a couple of Whizzer motor bikes for about $10 a piece. I remember all those ads in the American Rifleman in the 50's and 60's and thought pretty soon I'll have enough money. By the time I did the gun control act of 1968 banning mail order sales had passed and it was too late.
