I got five of them a year ago. I had ordered them three years ago before they even went into production. I wanted them to give to my kids. I did have a local gun smith work them over to match quality. The quality on delivery was not great. The trigger pull was vastly different between the five guns. The slide action was terrible on two of them. They would jam once every time in shooting a ten round clip.
The kids where thrilled with them. They could brag them up. The pistols do look good.
Would I buy another Ruger after these??? A big maybe. I have a lot of older Ruger firearms and they are good quality. The newer stuff has been cheapened up too much.
I have a pair of 1911 Colt 45ACP pistols that my Dad bought for me while I was in Vietnam. They cost $750 dollars in 1968. They where match grade pistols. I was told they where hand built from the best matching set of parts. Several gun smith/dealer friends have told me they have heard of Colt making these pistol but had never seen a set because of the high selling cost. I guess very few where ever sold.
They are the smoothest semi-automatic pistols I have ever shot. I have carried them ever since then. The one is just a little more accurate than the other. That one has had over 17,000 round fired through it. I keep a diary of every round that has been fired through them.
