When the engine quits check for fire to your plugs if you have fire disconnect the gas line at the carburetor and check the flow from the tank and catch the gas in a clean container.
If the flow looks ok remove the tube fitting at the carburetor and look for a screen behind the tube fitting that may be plugged. No engine will start at 180 degrees out of time.
REmove No1 sparkplug near the radiator and bring that piston to TDC on the compression stroke. You hold your thumb over the plug hole while a helper slowly cranks the engine. Once you feel pressure against your thumb drop a long plastic straw on top of the piston. Have the helper to keep slowly cranking the engine as you watch the straw rise. When the straw quits rising your No1 piston should be at TDC on the compression stroke. Remove the distributor cap and see where your rotor is pointing. It should be at the No1 plug tower.
