We had a low of 20 here in SE SD yesterday night. Lost some leaves on a couple of maple trees but that was about all in my yard. Yesterday afternoon I saw a farmer out swathing his alfalfa. It must not have been over 8 inches tall and you could barely see any windrows. Wonder if he thought frost had killed that crop and by cutting it he could get it to regrow faster? He sure didn't give it much time to recover or see if it was killed. This was on a 120 acre field he cut. Raining here today so there won't be anything to pick up if that was his plan.
