None of you ever hear tell of a lorry? Over in Britain we call any haulage vehicle over 7.5 tonnes a lorry, this includes tippers, dump trucks, flatbeds and semis. All lorries to me, first time I heard anyone in America talking about a semi I had to ask what it was!!! Even though we have Jeep over here now we still call anything like an SUV a jeep, except if it is a landrover/range rover product, no way would you ever describe it as either an suv or jeep! We have light commercials with short noses built on similar chassis to your pickups but they are all called vans even if they have a pckup body, then they are sometimes referred to as a pickup van. Ford F150 and nissan, toyota etc do a pickup here but it is based on mostly on a suv chassis. Station wagons are called estate cars. Sam

Today's Featured Article - Restoration Story: Fordson Major - by Anthony West. George bought his Fordson Major from a an implement sale about 18 years ago for £200.00 (UK). There is no known history regarding its origins or what service it had done, but the following work was undertaken alone to bring it up to show standard. From the engine number, it was found that this Major was produced late 1946. It was almost complete but had various parts that would definitely need replacing.
