Back when I was a kid 35 years ago we Bought a Farmall H that had been setting for a while. It had gunk in the tank. We fought it for the first year or so that we used it. I got to where I could disconnect the fuel line unscrew the sediment bowl, stick my finger in the bottom of the tank to prevent gas from running out while I blew the gunk out of the nipple on top of the sediment bowl. I don't think your Ferguson's sediment bowl is accessible enough to do that and beside as a people aren't we supposed to be getting better at doing stuff? How to control- use good quality gasoline, if it's going to be setting for more than a month use Stabil fuel additive to prevent your fuel from going bad. Park/store it with a full fuel tank and keep the tractor indoors if possible. If you're filling it with gas cans get a funnel that has a screen in it, I normally don't like plastic but a lot of my fuel troubles went away when I ditched the steel gas can for plastic ones. How to handle the current problem disassemble vs motoring through- the call is yours do you want to fight it every time you use it or do you want to fix it and be done with the struggles?
