Can't say I was too worried about it. One of our programmers made up the program for me after hours and he was really mild on it as well. I know the set-up wasn't the most rigid, but there wasn't much else I could've done. I tried to have the larger forging in the vise, but I wouldn't have been able to get it indicated in straight because the post was hitting the table and there wasn't much to grab on in the vise if it were. I guess I've done harder setups and other jobs that were much more nerve wracking. Earlier in the week I was tapping multiple holes, and the tap was programmed for over 2000 RPM's. I think it was a 1/4" tap. Worked great, with nothing more than coolant running on it.
The machine is a Tree 1260 (25 x 50 table) w/ a Dynapath control. I also run a Takumi w/ Fanuc controller on it, with a 40 x 70 table.
