im trying to help out a kid at work, he's just 20, and starting out in life, his ride is a '89 ford shortbed 2wd, it had what i think is the mazda 5 speed tranny in it behind a 300 six, he cooked the tranny when he ran it out of fluid, being a 300 i know they used this engine clear back in the 60's is there any other cheaper tranny that will fit in the truck? he just needs basic transportation, and dont have much money
