So Bill, are you saying that it is the power master decal rather than the egg crate grill, larger air filter, larger carb, larger intake tube, larger manifold, different pistons, that make the difference between an XX0 and an XX1? As with everything else no doubt some XX1s were built in the latter part of 1957 in order to have them at the dealers for mid winter, but Ford called all the XX0s for 1957 power masters, but not XX1 Power Masters until the 1958 model year. As I suggested before, just check the advertizing of the time.
