THE ANSWER YES

The starter and charging system are two wire 24 volt ISOLATED from frame ground devices.

The starter has 2 posts, one wires to one battery, the other connects first to the solenoid then (when its closed via the solenoid) to the - of the other battery i.e. 24 volts isolated from ground operates starter.

Approximately half the 12 volt lights are fed from one battery (at + ground) while the others are fed from the other (at - ground)

The mid center tie point where the batteries join in the middle (+ of one to - of other) is tied to frame ground i.e. one battery is Positive grounded 12 volts while the other battery is - grounded 12 volts..
