No, rather than cutting you open again, and stressing your system further, and exposing you to further risk of infection, they told you to wait and see because they usually poke their way out on their own.
Just because your local GP doctor got upset doesn't make him right. He's not a heart surgeon, and there's a lot he hasn't seen and doesn't know.
At best it was an accident, and apparently a fairly common one. Maybe they should make those wires a little better? How about you sue the manufacturer of the wires?
