stihl stuff here in the land of stihl is twice+ the price as in the States. Can't order online and understand to an extent....very small extent because I can order a 5 or 7 year gaurantee saw in a couple of minutes online (maybe even cheaper) and pick it up when I check mail but have to take away valuable time and drive to the store to hang out with bubba for plenty of time to get a higher priced one year gaurantee saw......
Obviously, I can't drive there so the next best thing is have my buddy pick it up. His time is valuable also, so I thought I'd get it all done and he just swing by, get the secret handshake, and pick up the saw/mail it to me..... Nooooooooooo.
Tried for 3+ hours to call the dealer near him with either a busy signal or answering machine. Emailed them thru thier website of what I wanted. Got a reply to give them a call. Told them I made my last call to them and why, told them just what I want (MS170 w/ a 10 or 12" bar), asked them for thier best price and how I wanted to pay (and why)...
Get a reply that I have to go in the store to buy something because it's stihl policy............ Stihl website states that you cannot order stihl machines or parts online for delivery anywhere other than a stihl dealer.
Guess business must be booming for them to allow them to turn dow a sale that'd be real easy and leave bubba free to spend the day on the phone or floor with tire kickers.........
Going to my local dealer and see how far I can get them down on the price and either buy local or order a hitachi thru amazon....
