IF your JD 4020 has a Roosa Master injection pump then it is harder to turn up. You have to remove the governor spring shaft and then line the retain clip screw up with the hole in the pump head. Then you can only turn it up IF the pump has been apart and the service people took the factory shims out of it. The factory pumps had the retaining clip screw set to the correct fuel delivery and then shims installed under it so it could not be turned up externally.
I would not turn it up much or you will cause trouble else where. Switch to a higher horse power tractor rather than tear up your JD 4020.
