Son pulled the pan on the transmission in his 2004 GM Trailbrazer today. Complained about transmission slipping. Found about two tablespoons of iron filings both on the magnet and coating the bottom of the oil pan. Also chunks of iron that looked like small gravel in the pan. 4L60E transmission with 4WD transfer case. Changed oil filter and new oil, drives OK, shifts as usual, but I think the transmission is failing. Car is parked for time being. MikeS.
