I haven't heard a cricket for the last 20 years unless they are right beside me. wife talks of how she hears the birds singing in the morning outside our bed room window I may hear one but she says the're many of them.
Blame it mostly 16 years in a tire factory with rows of presses for curing tires whistling with the high pressure steam. constant loud hi pitched sound.
also when my blood pressure elevates sometimes it ringing is even louder but seems to drop in pitch.
