First, be sure there is a good fuel flow out of the tank. Take hose loose from cut off valve and check for good flow, if no flow, remove filler cap and blow compressed air briefly into tank. If this is the problem, tractor may run a long time before another stoppage, but only cure is to clean tank.
To change filters: Have correct filters on hand. Remove bottom filter first, clean housing if necessary, take note of o ring locations on housing, install filter in housing, fill filter with fuel, reinstall housing. Repeat with top filter. On the top of top filter there is a small bolt which you loosen. Them pump with hand lever on side of fuel pump until there is a fuel flow at bolt, then tighten bolt. Pump a few times more for luck then try to start tractor. Leave the ether off, Longs don't like ether and it should be viewed as a cold weather starting aid and then it shouldn't be necessary as there is a manifold heater on it. If it still dosen't crank it will be necessary to loosen the injector lines at the injector and pump until fuel comes out. Then tighten lines and try to crank. It may be necessary to repeat the process.
