Knives on the IH should be sharp enough that when you put the twine on them you can just pull lightly to cut the twine. Without sliding it. Just straight tension on the twine against the knife. If you have a real good small very fine stone you can sharpen them but the are cheap to change. Also straw or dry grass must be bailed very tight to bale. Walt Ps I traded mine off for a new holland less trouble.
