Once in a while they get generous, (supposedly by what's shown) not long ago they found an ornate mirror frame, the old guy offered it to them for $25, they said that's not enough and gave him $75, later said it's worth $300. A while back they bought a dinosaur bone for $400 (as I remember) and donated it to a museum. I'm sure the show's sponsors pay them plenty.
